Greetings to you in the name of Jesus.
We hope you are well and that your family is too.
We are fine, and today enjoy a beautiful end-of-summer day, with lots of sun. Yesterday was more like fall, with rain and darkness. We prefer today's weather!
Our summer was a busy one and the time went fast. We spent time in Vermont, sometimes alone and sometimes with children and grandchildren. And in August we spent time at the beach with my m other who is 93 and needs care. She was so glad to be at the beach, to be able to hear the waves and feel the sun and warm breezes! And she had plenty of visitors, children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, to share the days.
Now we are back at home in Windsor, doing all the things we do here. We have a new choir director/organist at First Church who is very good to work with. We are singing some music that he has composed himself. We are still working on raising money to improve the facilities at Silver Lake Conference Center. Also we raise money for the school Hugh and I went to, a Quaker school in Pennsylvania. Next May we will celebrate the 50th anniversary of our graduation and we help to plan a reunion celebration and collect money from classmates for a scholarship for future students. There are several Korean students at the school, and our grandson who starts attending this year has a roommate from Hong Kong.
Jack and Carol Hubert returned and we were so happy to greet them after their visit to Korea and HaSanWoon. They delivered the package you sent. I love to hang these gifts from Korea on my Christmas tree, so the little shoes will be there in December!
Soon it will be time for our Annual Meeting, and visitors from the Presbytery. This is a very important event for the Connecticut Conference. We pray for their safe travel.
Please know that we remember you and HaSanWoon in our prayers, both at church and in our daily times of reflection. You seem not so far away as we pray for your health and happiness, and for your ministry. Our visits to Korea stay in our memory as wonderful times.
God's peace be with you and your family, and your church family too.
